Or get their butts kicked? 🤷🏼♂️
You weren't too far off... at least one team is doing some butt kicking.

Of course he NHL panders to the Leafs and their TV broadcasters. Nothing like an 8:30pm puck drop to win the fans over in Dallas.

...wasn't it proven last game that Perry and 19 are, together, too slow to play with 29?

OK, when the heck is puck drop?
This site said 7, but that was obviously wrong. TSN said 7:30, but that's been and gone...is it 8pm?
Suck if so as that's 11 here :/

8:52 local puck drop, just so the Leafs can have the exact same start time every night. Thanks, Gary. Way to make it easy for the next generation of fans to watch.

I understand Nurse's frustration with the crap officiating, but he needed to keep his mouth shut. Now he's sitting out the rest of the period and part of the third.

Ya, that was a tough one. I dont know if he bobbled it or just fanned on it but tough timing. I am sure his critics will ignore the 20 good things he will do this game.
Also, big welcome back Oscar! Missed ya

Cool story.
Me and my BFF agree on a lot of things. We were taking a long drive one day. I was streaming metal through Bluetooth. Suddenly I lost my signal. He hooked up to the Bluetooth and played a really bad country song. Then I falcon punched him in the throat.

We need much more g2k takes on repetitive Sportsnet commercials. Always appreciated.

That call on Nuge is pure BS. The officiating tonight is even worse than it usually is.

Nurse is not a smart player. For his few positive attributes he is not smart at all. Makes low level, feeble plays most of the time that result in chances or goals.

Sweet pinch by Nurse. Gross.
4 on 1 leads to 3 to zip Stars.
This team will smoke the Oilers in the playoffs if they make those sorts of boneheaded mistakes.
The one really big knock on Nurse is his situational awareness, or hockey IQ. He just doesn't think the game the way a $9.5M player should. Not even close.
Any team that is going to play the Oilers in the playoffs will know, without a doubt, that by applying pressure, they will make them cough it up. Yet again, another garbage giveaway by Draisaitl and it's 4 zip.
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.
Yet another turnover! 5 zip!

Dallas looks ready for the playoffs. The Oilers look like they are playing half-asleep.
Nice effort tonight, gents! Excellent effort!
Another effing giveaway... the turnover numbers for the Oilers in that period will be tragic.

I hope Nurse does something nice for Pickard after he burned him for 3 goals tonight with stupid plays and missed assignments.

They will never win with that guy as your "top" dman. As a 4 or 5 yes, all day long. Ekholm, Bouchard, Larson would be a good start for top 3.

Note how rarely an Oiler is left right around the net with the puck, able to pick their spot with a shot. Hyman probably gets 99% of the chances where a team misses us right around the net. Very few other Oilers actually dig in there, and even if they do, we usually are up against competent defending when we play a good team. Very few 1+ second long, free to make a play with the puck, type chances that we love to give.
The shot quality and rushes we are allowing is right back to the Woodcroft era. We can hide behind our corsi stats, but you're not gonna win if you keep allowing these kinds of chances over and over.
Our offensive game seems to get more and more perimeter too. We're slowly evolving back to an Eakins dream team of winning corsi battles, but badly losing the quality battle.

Watching Nurse and Draisaitl from 37,000 feet and I think I might be more grounded than they are. Brutal showing from the top guys (97 not included).

I’m not sure how you can get an entire team to buy into any kind of system (there’s a system, right?), when 25% of the team only plays disciplined hockey when they feel like it.
This team is perennially plagued with discipline issues. And pick some lines and stick with them at some point this season please.
Knoblauch is starting to do things that got the last guy fired.

Did anyone else notice that chart about how the Oilers do against teams at various levels? Losing record to top 5 teams (even before tonight), .500 against teams from #6-10.
Ridiculous that our GM, knowing that and watching those teams all improve at the deadline didn't do more to get any real impact players. We are likely going to have to beat a couple of those top teams if we're going to have any chance of a Stanley Cup this year.

Total focus should have been on defence.
Old Dutchie put too much faith in Vinnie magically bending a curve down the stretch. Dude just can’t keep up to what’s going on around him. He’s gonna get burned a lot this post season.
If #14 gets injured I’m just gonna book a fishing trip.

You don't think playing Stecher every five games or so is enough of an upgrade?
Also - Carrick is worse than both Holloway and Gagner, so we may have actually made the team worse with that acquisition.
Ugly game tonight. Hopefully the team leaves this game mad.
