Ryan Smyth had two goals and an assist as the Oilers wrecked Mike Comrie's Return to his old ice barn.

The game was Comrie's first in Edmonton since the Oilers' traded him to the Philadelphia Flyers.

He did very little against his old team other than draw boos from the fans, they booed him during the pre-game warm-up and when ever he touched the puck throughout the night.

The game didn't start out as good as the Oilers wanted it to as Mike Sillinger scored his 8th goal of the season at 1:24 of the first period. Well Georges Laraque and Jason Smith scored for the Oilers as they went into the second period with a 2-1 lead.

Ryan Smyth potted his first of the game as he scored the only power play goal of the game 40 seconds into the second period as the Oilers went 1of 3 with the man advantage.

Chris Gratton and Tyson Nash who also laid a crushing check to the Oilers big guy Laraque in the third period scored in the second as they tied the game up as they went in for the second intermission.

Once again the period scoring opened up in the first 2 minutes as Ryan Smyth dropped a beauty pass to Steve Staios who got his 6th goal of the season and 26th point tying his career best as he slapped a beauty shot past Boucher at 1:31 of the first period.

It almost looked like the Mikes new team might get them selves back in to the game as Coyotes forward Daymond Langkow tied the game at 4-4 with 1:16 remaining in the third period as he shot the puck over a sprawled out Tommy Salo who was lying out on the ice like he was in a new bed.

Smyth, who also scored in the second period, won the face-off and pushed the puck forward off the coyote's defenseman's foot, before shooting it off Brian Boucher and into the net for the overtime winner.

The Oilers (27-27-10-2) will fly to St. Louis as they start there three game road trip this Thursday as you can see the game on Sportsnet west.
